Pete’s Corner Episode 10 feat. LightningEllen (Me!!)

ZOMG! Super huge shout-out to Omar over at Drakulus.com for inviting me to be a guest on his latest podcast episode. It was so much fun chatting with him… and also so, so far outside of my comfort zone to verbally talk over the internet instead of type words. I had a blast talking to him!

Check it out below.

  1. I always expected your voice to sound more like an other-worldly sort of shriek, as if the universe was chatting to another universe in some transmundane separate dimension.

But excellent, well done on this! I’d freak the hell out, I tell you. Just thinking about doing something like this makes me anxious. Thumbs up from me (well, one thumb – I lost the other one).

    Omar is cool, too!

    1. I usually have an otherworldly shriek but it didn’t come across in the recording I guess, haha.

Thank you!! It was scary as hell talking online, not gonna lie, but Omar is a fantastic fellow to talk to! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Very fantastic conversation! Totally relate to a game being there for you when you needed it most. For me it was Final Fantasy X-2, I never played X but just fell in love with the Dress Sphere System in X-2. Funny you talking about Persona 5, having never played a Persona game, and 5 being $20 I had to check it out. The confidant system is really amazing, but the combat /dungeon portions of the game are really, really repetitive. Almost mind numbing having to watch the same attack animation. A solid 7.5 but I cannot co-sign these 9.5 ratings I see everywhere as the combat system is so lacking. Really enjoying your Mass Effect debriefings, I totally loved Andromeda and would start from scratch with the original series (and I generally loathe first person shooters) .

    1. Thanks for listening! You know what? I couldn’t get into FFX-2 back in the day when I played it. I need to give it another try one of these years, haha. Persona 5 will be tried out of these years too. Andromeda is a great game! Thank you for the comment.

      1. Of course! A rare appearance from the Enigmatic Ellen! When I play an RPG I tend to grind a bit more than I should do, so for me if the combat system isn’t something fun or interesting I get a bit upset. One great example is Xenosaga Episode 1 (while it hasn’t aged well in retrospect) the combat system is AMAZING, and the storyline is DEEP. It is interesting how these days we get Gorgeous Graphics, but not the innovation of older games, which is sad. I have been looking for new games to get into and I really haven’t found anything that grabs my attention. So I tend to read more reviews and see what other people are playing which is why I always love your rundowns & insights!

Hope you are having a great summer!

        1. *A rare Enigmatic Ellen has appeared.* ๐Ÿ˜›

I don’t blame you! You spend most of RPGs doing the combat thing so it should be fun. Graphics are certainly not everything.

Thank you! Summer is fun so far. Hope you’re enjoying yours ๐Ÿ™‚
