#MaybeInMarch 2019 – A Community Backlog Mission

First off, a huge thank you to everyone who partook in February’s #LoveYourBacklog week! Kim and I were pleasantly shocked by all the cool entries that were posted. You guys rock!

And now it’s time for part two: dedicating an entire month to getting through that one unplayed game that’s been taunting you the most. Whether it’s been the game that’s been on your backlog list the longest from the #LoveYourBacklog event, or one that you’ve been struggling to just play for some reason or another, this is the month it seriously might happen.

#MaybeInMarch 2019 you’ll get that game done, or maybe finally give up on it completely, thus freeing you from its constant cries to complete it.

How To Partake:

  • Pick out the video game in your backlog that’s been on your To Play list the longest (or one that you’ve been struggling to find the motivation to play despite you really wanting to play it).
  • Play it! Seriously try your best to knock it off your backlog list by any means necessary before the end of March.
  • Blog about your mission in some form of your choosing. You can write a post describing why you’re playing this game, progress updates, and/or a success/failure post at the end of the month. It’s up to you! Just let me know you posted something about it (either via pingbacks or Twitter) and I’ll do a final mission debriefing in April linking to any participant posts.

You can do it, probably! Banish the one game that’s been bugging you the most this March. And hey, if you fail and still want to finish it, there’s #AlwaysApril, right? The most important thing is to always have fun playing video games!

Super special shout-out to the amazing Kim of Later Levels for making me brave enough to help her with not one, but two community blogging events. Keep being awesome, Kim!

⚡Thanks for reading!⚡

If for some odd reason you want to read more of my posts, you can find a somewhat organized (and usually up to date) archive of my ramblings… I mean, articles here!

I'm a wannabe writer and an avid video gamer with a slight (okay, maybe extreme) Amiibo addiction. I'm from the coastal province of Nova Scotia in Canada, eh. When I'm not gaming, I have a steady job thing I have to go to. It pays for the gaming thing though. :)

  1. I kind of did this recently but with a book, and I ended up not finishing it because turns out, it wasn’t any good. Sat on my TBR list for years for pretty much nothing.
Hopefully you have a much better experience with whatever game you choose!

  2. I actually managed to finish a game that was in my backlog last month Assassin’s Creed Origins I’ll try and get AC Odyssey done this month but Devil May Cry 5 is gonna take my attention for a while so we’ll see anyway thumbs up for the cool idea.

      1. Devil May Cry is awesome possibly my favourite capcom series I’d suggest you to play some more but the last thing you need is more games in the backlog 😆

  3. I’m definitely going to try to play a couple from my backlog this month, at least one I mentioned in my post last month. I say that because now I have finally finished Assassin’s Creed Odyssey I feel the need for shorter games so perhaps some backlog games can help with that!

  4. Uh oh, this one’s gonna be tough. My B day is on Monday so I’m gonna be getting new games from the fam xD I’ll see if I can beat an old one in addition to those during March though.

  5. Let’s see, I think the game that’s been on my backlog the longest is Blue Dragon, but… man, I’m already playing so many looooooong RPGs right now and don’t really want to jump into another one right now. Maybe I’ll just bump that up the list for next time a space opens up.

    1. I don’t think I’ve heard of Blue Dragon before…. I see Nobuo Uematsu is a composer in that game so consider it backlogged now, haha. No idea when I’ll find time to actually look into playing the game though.
